Mississippian Grievances and Social economics
My battle against oppression is nothing new. There are many Artists like me that had totally different lifestyles within the community of art. Of course, not many of them are from Mississippi.
The first ever black artist known around the world was named Henry Ossawa Tanner. He was known for his realism, impressionism, symbolism, and also French academics. In my opinion The Banjo lesson, an art piece done by Henry himself is filled with emotion turmoil as to the fact it depicts such a rare occasion in the early 1900's. I must admit I shed a tear myself thinking about the lack of a father figure.
Another artist that really had an effect me as a black artist is Agusta Savage. She was an African American sculptor born in Jackson Florida February 29, 1892. She once talked about how her father would kick her four or five times a week and how he almost whipped all the art out of her. Due to the fact he believed her art was an act of sin, being a preacher at the local church. She is the proud sculptor of the piece Lift Every Voice and Sing done in 1940 displayed during a Pavillion of temporary art. The tone of this sculpted harp could be characterized as a depiction of a monetized formula meant to uplift the soles of ancestorial lineage.
Even though these American Artist where the first of many every attempt made was a path paved for artist like me. Aaron Douglas knew this well, an African American painter, illustrator, and visual arts educator. He was a major figure in the Harlem Renaissance along with Henry and Agusta. I Reify the actions of these Artist in hopes to explain the nature of my business a bit deeper. I feel this is important simply because of Ms. Agusta's words written down below.
"I have created nothing really beautiful, really lasting, but if I can inspire one of these youngsters to develop talent I know they posses, then my moment will be in their work."

Non-Violent ~ Coinhabiting
Spiritual ~ Artistic ~ Wellness
Sometimes it feels like Mississippi is the front line to a spiritual battle.
Making residency challenging and life changing overall. Whether it's a serious health issue that lacks a wellness perspective, or dramatic attempts at "saving" lives while forming better dietary practices.
Maybe it could be a loved one that made mistakes throughout his or her life looking to spice up some family time. Turning to a life of crime because it pays better. Never mind the fact that the same individual is marked a felon meanwhile the people governing his/her investigations are the very criminals leading the organized portion of the crimes these repeat criminals commit to.
I'm not a part of any branch in a military, but at the same time seeing how Mississippi treats its American vets let alone Indigenous Mississippians, would probably detour any free American from joining the military. Especially asserting unwarranted overreach while claiming its of national security interest. Almost as if there is a militia governing what free will is within the life of a Mississippian resident.
In that same moment I am supposed to Love a residency in America while still being stalked economically. My father never went to jail for crimes involving pure hate or a passion for violence. I witnessed my father's fight and struggle to be a father. Along with my sister Kieta Mccarty, looking to provide for her two kids and protect her family from the hardships of being a Mississippian. At the same time remaining proud of her works. With love and guidance every chance she got.
I barely had a life with my father or his daughters growing up mainly because of family drama or family distance. My grandmother aka (Momo), my dad's mother, had her own struggles to find grounding. There are so many examples! It's just these were close to me, some lived full lives. Some had obstacles that took their choices, and I just want to say it's tough being a Mississippian resident.
This Statement is mainly to recognize true Mississippian hardships whether it's a lack of medical care, misguided resources, challenging labor, work conditions, drug abuse, and so many other critical problems that casinos, local businesses, local politicians, and local families just can't see.
Could it be for the sole reason of gaining money or an economic benefit through manipulating the less fortunate using malevolent practice to help some believe there is no hope, could it be a payoff, or could it just be them voting on a culture unwillingly?
This is my tribute to the Love I received from individuals and their benevolence as I struggled to find myself and my purpose. To the lost soles that GOD saw fit as a sacrifice, if we are referring to the ways of a church and how religious doctrine perceives its regular and growing number of deaths. Every fraction and essence of Mississippi shaped the lives of family members now deceased and listed below.

I'm sure there are more to this list that I just can't recognize because of a lack in personal ties. Not that I spent every day around these awesome people, but I love them, and they are a part of my family, its bloodline, my life, and my kid's kids Lifes forever and ever.
